Our client, a global leader in rail transportation and signaling systems, is seeking a Project Supply Chain Lead to join their team on a contract basis. This role owns the material delivery process for assigned projects — from demand planning through to on-site delivery — within a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
 
Location: Scarborough, ON – on-site
Contract Rate: $70 CAD
Contract Length: 6 months, with potential for extension
 
The Project Supply Chain Lead coordinates all project supply chain activities related to project demand, MRP planning, project deliveries to site, and logistics coordination for equipment dispatch. This is an individual-contributor role, not a people-management position.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage MRP / demand planning in SAP for assigned projects; own project material delivery from planning through site delivery
  • Oversee project supply chain activities from demand allocation through to delivery and forecast management
  • Analyze MRP results, manage demand in SAP, and resolve planning exceptions
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Category Management, tactical buyers, Project Managers, and Engineering on design changes and product change notices
  • Trigger and follow up on expediting processes as required
  • Define logistics strategy for project delivery and liaise with the logistics team
  • Plan, track, and report on all project deliveries within scope, including change orders
  • Develop and maintain supply chain reports on project equipment deliveries
  • Build relationships across Procurement, Engineering, Project/Site teams, Quality/HS&E, Finance, and Freight Forwarders/3PLs

Requirements

  • University/College degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
  • 5-7 years’ experience in planning, MRP, or project coordination
  • Working knowledge of project demand management, including scheduling and SAP demand/supply chain modules
  • Proficiency in SAP required
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, standard formulas — no coding required)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills; able to work independently and think analytically
  • Must be able to work on-site in Scarborough, ON

Preferred

  • Background in the rail industry (nice to have)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team-oriented, adaptable to a high-change environment
