Site Installation Supervisor

About the Role
Our client, a leading rail systems integrator, is seeking an experienced Site Installation Supervisor to join their team on a contract basis. In this hands-on role, you will oversee and coordinate all on-site installation activities for rail systems deployment projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and delivery timelines. You will serve as the key link between engineering, project management, and subcontractor teams on the ground.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise the installation of signaling, telecom, and electrical systems across project sites
- Coordinate daily work plans, allocate resources, and track progress against schedule
- Manage subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual and safety obligations
- Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues as they arise
- Maintain accurate documentation including progress reports, quality checks, and as-built records
- Ensure all site installation drawings, documents, and software releases are kept current
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and client representatives to ensure smooth execution
- Support PICO testing and test & commissioning (T&C) activities as required
- Enforce compliance with Health & Safety requirements for all employees and subcontractors on site
What You Bring
- 3-5 years of experience in rail systems installation or similar infrastructure projects
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline
- Familiarity with CENELEC standards, signaling systems, and installation best practices
- Experience in train control system installation and testing
- Strong task planning skills including estimation, performance tracking, and reporting
- Valid safety certifications (OSHA, First Aid, or equivalent)
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Full professional fluency in both English and French (written and verbal) — MANDATORY
Nice to Have
- Experience on large-scale rail deployment projects
- Knowledge of fiber optic and telecom systems
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
Working Conditions
- Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week with occasional weekend work during critical project phases
- Night shifts required up to 50% of the time depending on project phase
- Ability to work outdoors, climb ladders, and lift up to 25 kg
- Domestic travel up to 10%
- Must pass background checks and comply with site-specific safety requirements
