We’re seeking a hands-on Lead Electrical Project Engineer to drive complex hardware projects from concept to delivery. This role blends electrical engineering expertise and project management (50/50) — ideal for someone who can both design systems and lead teams to deliver on time, on budget, and to high quality standards. You’ll work directly with clients and stakeholders from day one.
Note that this is a 6-month contract position with strong potential for permanent conversion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead hardware design work packages across multiple projects
- Plan, schedule, and track activities using project management tools
- Own design quality, documentation, and technical reviews
- Design electrical/control systems (power circuits, cabling, grounding, surge protection)
- Interpret requirements and deliver solutions within budget and timelines
- Collaborate cross-functionally and present to clients/stakeholders
- Develop design architectures and promote reuse of existing solutions
Must-Haves
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 8–10+ years of relevant experience (10+ preferred)
- MS Project (non-negotiable — will be tested)
- AutoCAD (electrical design, cable routing)
- Team leadership or group lead experience
- Strong client-facing communication skills
Technical Expertise
- Power circuits, electronic systems (incl. microprocessors, telecom circuits)
- Cabling, grounding, surge protection
- Tools: AutoCAD, multimeter, oscilloscope, protocol analyzers
- Proven delivery of complex electrical/electronics products
- Strong technical documentation skills
Hourly Rate: $50-58
