MoD is partnering with a leading client in the GTA to recruit a Bid Efficiency Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing Bids & Transformation team and drive innovation and efficiency across the bid development process.
Reporting to the VP of Bids & Transformation, the Bid Efficiency Specialist will play a critical role in improving tools, processes, and systems used by cross-functional bid teams. You’ll be instrumental in developing AI-driven tools, enhancing costing models, streamlining workflows, and driving continuous improvement across all bid disciplines.
Key Duties:
- Identify and implement improvements in bid-related tools (costing models, templates, reporting dashboards, SharePoint organization).
- Streamline and enhance processes across the full bid lifecycle.
- Support the integration of AI tools and assistant technologies into the bid process.
- Improve and automate costing models (primarily Excel-based) through advanced functions and consolidation techniques.
- Collaborate with technical, deployment, finance, legal, and bid management teams to identify and implement operational efficiencies.
- Support the creation and implementation of use cases for AI, automation, and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, Power Automate, Copilot Studio).
- Develop strategic use cases, execute and optimize them using a variety of techniques, and document outcomes.
- Contribute to the industrialization of successful AI use cases to make them accessible to non-technical team members.
- Provide user support for repetitive AI tasks and solutions.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience (co-op/internship experience accepted).
- Strong background in data analytics and mathematics.
- Proficient in Python and automation tools.
- Hands-on experience with Excel (macros, Visual Basic) and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Familiarity with ChatGPT or other generative AI tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated process improvement and continuous improvement mindset.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Exposure to scheduling/planning tools (Primavera, MS Project).
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
- Previous experience supporting bids or proposals.
