MoD is on the hunt for a Quality Assurance Specialist, the successful candidate will oversee the quality aspects of high to critical complexity bids, projects, and products. This is a 6-month contract hybrid opportunity for a leading client of ours in the GTA.
Key Duties:
- Ensure customer concerns are captured, understood, and effectively addressed by the project team.
- Cascade and manage Quality Assurance requirements across project teams.
- Promote a risk-based, value-driven QA mindset, adjusting activities based on risk, team maturity, and business impact.
- Guide project teams in defining and tailoring project baselines and validating plans.
- Monitor project execution against quality plans; provide ongoing quality assessments at key milestones.
- Manage and analyze objective quality data (e.g., OTD, OCD, KPIs) to drive quality excellence across the lifecycle.
- Conduct compliance assessments based on contractual and regulatory QA requirements.
- Support bid preparation with QA estimates and document reviews.
- Raise alerts or veto decisions in cases of unresolved non-compliance or critical risks.
- Prepare and present Quality Management Reports to demonstrate the effectiveness of QA processes.
- Approve project artifacts, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
- Conduct QA reviews of engineering artifacts and assess compliance trends.
- Perform Root Cause Analyses with cross-functional teams and implement corrective actions.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Engineering Systems, Software Development, or QA in a tech/manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of Quality Assurance practices, methodologies, and Quality Management Systems.
- Proven ability to conduct cross-disciplinary investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience in complex system environments with certification constraints (e.g., Transportation, Aerospace, Medical Devices, Nuclear, Cybersecurity).
