EToD is looking for a Hardware Design Technical Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our leading clients. This role is a unique blend of Technical Design and Project Management, and the successful candidate will be responsible for both developing hardware designs and overseeing the successful execution of the project from start to finish.
This is a Hybrid Opportunity (2 days in-office per week)
Key Duties:
Technical Design – the successful candidate will be tasked with developing low to medium voltage device designs, and translating customer requirements into effective, functional hardware solutions.
- Design and Drafting: Creating application designs for various systems, including station controllers, signals, and wiring diagrams related to power distribution.
- CAD Expertise: Working extensively with AutoCAD and MicroStation to develop precise and detailed design drawings.
- Customer Requirement Translation: Taking client product specifications and translating them into internal project requirements, ensuring the final designs meet both customer and industry standards.
- Lifecycle Management: Overseeing the complete project lifecycle, from preliminary design stages, through to the final design, and participating in the review process pre- and post-installation.
Project Management – responsible for overseeing the successful execution of the design projects.
- Scheduling & Deliverables: Developing project schedules, assigning tasks to team members, and tracking the progress of design and implementation.
- Team Management: Leading and managing the design team, ensuring that tasks are completed on time, and delivering high-quality work.
- Client and Team Communication: Meeting with the customer and broader project teams to discuss deliverables, timelines, and project milestones.
- Risk and Budget Management: Identifying any potential risks to project timelines or budgets and addressing them proactively to keep the project on track.
Must Haves:
- 10+ years of relevant work experience, with a strong focus on both hardware design and project management.
- A Technologist diploma or a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
- Extensive experience with low to medium voltage systems, including station controllers and wiring diagrams.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation for creating detailed hardware design drawings.
- Hands-on experience with product lifecycle management, from initial design to post-installation review.
- Proven project management experience, including scheduling, team management, and client communications.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high-quality results.
