Executive Talent on Demand is searching for a Research & Technology Project Leader (Autonomous Transportation) for one of our leading clients in the transportation space. As a Researcher in Autonomous Transportation, you will be responsible for leading the research and development of complex systems for Autonomous Transportation Solutions.
You will drive the design process of systems or sub-systems containing modules implementing algorithms within your expertise in data analytics, computer vision, machine learning, control theory, and artificial intelligence. You will also provide technical advice to R&T members and other departments regarding the latest scientific developments in the core areas of autonomous transportation and supporting tools.
Key Responsibilities:
• You will drive the design process of their systems by implementing algorithms within your established expertise (data analytics, computer vision, machine learning, control theory and artificial intelligence)
• Involved in the technical analysis and modelling of very complex autonomous systems & real-time use cases
• Translating safety requirements into test suites
• Provide insights to define system architecture and operation for new research concepts
• Oversee the design and implementation of prototype systems using computer vision and machine learning modules
• Support the overall design solution to product definition (system architecture, failure mode analysis and system redundancy)
• Perform prototyping in simulation environments and with “proof of concept” platforms
• Conducting code reviews
• Acting as a technical leader and mentor
• Contributing to intellectual property development and providing technical support to product teams
• Provide technical advice to R&T members and other departments regarding the latest scientific developments in the core areas of autonomous transportation and supporting tools.
Preferred Work Experience:
• Over 4 years of relevant work experience in the design, analysis, implementation and testing of autonomous transportation systems
• Possess a PhD or Masters in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or a related field
• Expert-level knowledge and project-based experience in computer vision methods (3D sensing, object detection, point cloud registration)
• Knowledge and project-based experience in machine learning and AI methods
• Proficiency in several computer languages; emphasis on C/C++ and Python
• Knowledge of best practices in code development, documentation and version control
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with ROS, QNX, and/or other software platforms for autonomous systems
